How To Spot a Fake Account On Social Media?
Varidhi Yadav
Its so irritating when you receive a friend request from a fake account or even worse when you don’t know its a fake account. You start talking to that person only to realize there was someone else behind it all along.
If case you are wondering why people make a fake account in the first place? I suggest you read the first part of this article. The mystery behind Angel Priya UNLOCKED?
Some people don’t have a life so they put all there efforts into making a perfect fake account. But a thief always leaves a clue, let’s see what they are!
1. Name of the account
This is the most hilarious and easy part. Anything that starts or ends with ‘Angel‘ is a fake account. Maybe they loose there creativity when it comes to choosing a good women name.

2. Different name in the URL
When you make a profile, you are linking it to your email address and that is what comes in the URL of your profile.
So the person’s name in the actual profile could be Priyanka Tripathi from Jaipur, Rajsthan but the name in the URL would be Mayank Sharma on the URL, the guy who made a fake profile to talk to girls, now I got you bastard!
3. Lack of content
The basic need in making your personal profile is to put your life out there.
What you look like, what you do for fun, the trips you took, the friends you have. You won’t find all this in a fake profile, nothing related or anything that makes sense.
However you will see a lot of promotions, shares and sales of products which is the very purpose of this account.

4. Lazy about pattern
You know that about section on every social media, where one gets to put details about where they are from, where they work, where they studied and all that jazz.
So when it comes to creating a fake profile, that person is not going to be bothered about all these details or they put vague or very general details.

5. Friends list
Now comes the fun part, when you add a fake profile or they send you a follow request, go through their friend list or followers on whatever social media you are on.
They will possibly not have any or maybe very few actual legit profiles or there will be lots of men. Blind and stupid ones to be exact.
6. Use other people’s photos

Some people are so stupid that they use famous celebrities as there profile pic for a fake account.
A fake account will upload a picture of Katrina Kaif, but more surprising thing is that boys will still comment, ‘Cute pic’. Like what the hell, man?
7. Birthday date
If it is first of January then there is a high chance it’s a fake account because when people create these accounts, this is the first date that comes up and they just continue without bothering to make it like a real birth date.
8. Comments
Remember the example of Katrina Kaif DP?
Yes, open any of its display pic and read comments.
You will have a great laugh moreover you will see lots of comments from desperate and attention seeking men. Where are this girl’s girlfriends now, Right?

You know what, if you have the slightest feeling of any account being a fake, don’t even bother going through their profile to check for these signs. Just trust your gut and remove them or message them politely, “Bhai, kyun karta hai aise kaam?”
