How to overcome depression while preparing for govt exams?

People get lonely and fall into depression while preparing for govt exams like UPSC, Bank PO, SSC or any govt exam for that matter. You worked so hard and gave your best but still don’t know what you did wrong? And as if the pressure from your parents is not enough you have your relatives and naysayers to add on to your misery.

I know its a lot to handle, these exams are not easy to crack, and sometimes you feel like giving up. But you can’t and you shouldn’t.

So, let me note down a few points to ease off that tension and help you to focus better.

1. Take a break:

Constantly remind yourself that continuous studying is not going to get you through the exam but the breaks will. It is absolutely important to rest your brain after a particular saturation level for it to function properly and legitly store everything in your brain

2. Workout:

If any minute you feel like the stress is crossing the threshold limit you can’t handle, go spend it all in the gym. Working out is the best way to let go of all the negative feeling you have. It will make you happy with all the endorphins kicking in and you’ll feel more energized and motivated.

3. Yoga:

I know this sound a little boring and you think that you got no time for this but believe me it can do wonders. The amount of peace yoga can give you is beyond explanation. It helps you to put every negativity aside from your mind and focus on more important things. Isn’t that what you need right now? Hell yes! too loose depression while preparing for govt exams

4. Explore:

You need to have a backup for every time you’re super bored of studying. So if you have a hobby then use it to distract yourself for a while and if not then explore yourself. Find a new hobby or an interest like drawing, music or playing an instrument. It is really important to keep your mind relaxed and utilize it for creativity from time to time.

6. Socialize:

This one is important. A lot of people tend to isolate themselves while preparing for these exams. But no, all you get from this is loneliness. You need to keep socializing and I don’t mean attending parties. I mean talking to your friends and family members. Having dinner on the family table and not the bedroom. Going for a walk with friends and not with your study material.

7. Travel:

If nothing helps then traveling is your last resort. You can plan a trip with your friends and family but, you can also go alone. For once in your life leave your books behind, and travel like you are free from everything. Don’t stress yourself too much on how you will crack the exam or what you are doing wrong? This trip is for you to relax and find peace with yourself.

I understand the importance of these exams. It can make your life. But don’t forget that you are the most important person in your life and you need to take care of yourself at all times. And no, nothing is difficult if you don’t want it to be, not even these exams. All you need is focus and determination. Don’t give up, things eventually fall into place. Have patience and keep working hard.
